Joining Elder Scrolls Online at the forefront of modern, triple-A MMORPGs is Final Fantasy 14. What more could SAO fans want from a trò chơi than the only MMORPG singularly developed for room-scale virtual reality? By that virtue alone, Orbus
VR is the closest you can get khổng lồ living in Aincrad, at least until something lượt thích the Nerve
Gear launches & takes control of our consciousness.

Of course, Orbus
VR doesn"t rely on its VR underpinnings và stands on its own as an expansive, robust MMO with plenty to lớn see and do and a relatively active social hub. Orbus
VR: Reborn expanded & polished what was already a promising VRMMO as released into Early Access in December of 2017, and continued updates in 2020 make now a better time than ever khổng lồ immerse yourself in this vibrant, colorful world.

If you"re simply looking for a big ol" RPG with an anime vibe lớn sink your time into, we can"t recommend Genshin Impact enough. & if you don"t care for/aren"t familiar with gacha games, you can still enjoy a ton of nội dung in Genshin Impact without ever interacting with the gacha mechanics at all. But once you vì chưng decide lớn dive into the gacha side of it, you"ll find a whole new system of risk and reward to lớn toy with và enrich your chơi game experience. If what you"re looking for in an SAO-like MMORPG is a vibrant social hub, you can bởi vì no better than the undisputed titan of the genre, World of Warcraft. With a player base that more than doubles the next-most active game (via Altar of Gaming), Wo

Of course, there"s a reason so many people play Wo
W - it"s an excellent đoạn clip game with unparalleled polish & scale. Blizzard has spent over 15 years continuously developing Wo
W, adding new races, polishing the graphics, and expanding the explorable world. But it"s the community, a part of which has literally grown up và made lifelong friends in Azeroth, that colors the world and makes Wo

Rune
Scape

Developer: JagexPlatform(s): PC

Rune
Scape is another MMORPG that benefits from its extraordinarily long history, boasting a community of players almost 20 years old. It"s also one of the only MMOs from the genre"s early history that"s still being consistently updated today.

Rune
Scape 3 is the most recent iteration of the game, having been released in 2013, though veterans can relive the glory days in Old
School Rune
Scape. Either way, SAO fans will enjoy an active & social playerbase, a rich, imaginative world, & a strong focus on Pv
P. Rune
Scape is also one of the more accessible options on this list, as you can play most of what"s on offer for free, & it"s browser-based so you don"t need a gaming rig to lớn run it.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim VR

Platforms: PS4, PC

Skyrim is great, but have you tried Skyrim VR? Thanks to the brilliant work at Bethesda, grounding dragons, completing quests, and exploring the vast expanse of Skyrim isn"t just viable with a VR headset strapped khổng lồ your face, it"s enjoyable in its own right and exponentially more immersive. Plus, it"s probably the closest thing khổng lồ a VRMMO like Sword Art Online you"ll find at present, và with Skyrim VR you don"t die when your character dies.

Mind you, this is pretty much the same Skyrim you remember from 2011; it hasn"t been remastered or redesigned in any significant way. That said, Skyrim"s visuals have aged extraordinarily gracefully, & Bethesda has done great work adapting the controls lớn suit the VR platform, making Skyrim VR an accessible way lớn re-experience the game with an added layer of immersion.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet

Developer: DimpsPlatform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Gamers looking for a game like Sword Art Online should know there are actually games based on the series - plenty of them, in fact. Better yet, the latest release in the series, 2018"s Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, earns a spot on this danh mục even without considering the obvious affiliation. Somewhat ironically, it"s also the only trò chơi in the list that isn"t an MMORPG.

Fatal Bullet is set in the world of the Gun Gale Online VRMMO from the second season of SAO, but the trò chơi itself is a third-person shooter and RPG (though you can also use swords). Vastly improved character customization over the earlier games và fast, fluid, challenging action make Fatal Bullet the most fun you can have playing a Sword Art Online game.

Maple
Story

Developer: NexonPlatform(s): PC

Maple
Story is by far the cutest game on this list, which is always a plus when you"re talking to lớn fans of anime. But there"s a lot more khổng lồ Maple
Story than big, glinting anime eyes & cuddly little monsters - in fact, there"s an extraordinary amount of depth and content for a free-to-play MMORPG. There"s an incredible range of customization options, including clothing, chat bubble designs, mounts, & houses, which you"ll use blocks to lớn construct.

Questing is smartly balanced khổng lồ provide the organic progression you need without a ton of extra grinding. In the meantime, life skill activities lượt thích fishing, cooking, & playing music can provide temporary stat buffs and experience points. If you"re looking for an MMORPG like Sword Art Online but haven"t found anything worthwhile that"s sufficiently anime, Maple
Story is your best bet.

Seeing as SAO is an anime and couldn"t realy exist, could you give an example of a current MMO instead of someting not even close to being made?
This is probably the closest an actual MMO got.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0p

Seeing as SAO is an anime and couldn"t realy exist, could you give an example of a current MMO instead of someting not even close khổng lồ being made? i don"t care about the graphics that much or the VR but a game like SAO và no death games
i don"t care about the graphics that much or the VR but a game lượt thích SAO và no death games What do you like about SAO? What bởi you define as a death game?
i don"t care about the graphics that much or the VR but a game lượt thích SAO & no death games What vì chưng you like about SAO? What vị you define as a death game? if you die in the trò chơi you die irl thats a death game and i just lượt thích the style like getting new swords and all the huge bosses & the fights and swords & everything about it
The Dragon"s Dogma MMO is going to lớn be released, possibly in the United States & elsewhere but it hasn"t been specified yet. Right now it"s only for Japan. I tried throwing money at them lớn let me play their game but half of them thought I was having a cuộc chơi and nearly ten percent of them thought I was Commodore Perry. Then I was accosted by screaming schoolgirls, what I can only describe as a sumo wrestler samurai clown, a gaggle of moogles và other assorted mascots, no less than five zillion mecha, & a Jesus-Santa wielding a 9999 cross screaming "I am most Power! BOOOOST!" I just bowed và left, though I appreciate the traditional Japanese greeting to westerners consisting entirely of making them wonder what in the **** is going on over there. I also appreciate their best attempt khổng lồ date at a Western RPG, Dragon"s Dogma. It"s also a bit like Sword-Art Online but inverted in plot. Instead of making the game a real world, it has a fourth-wall breaking plot that brings the real world into the game. Sadly, most people missed it because they were too busy looking for moogles and leek ambushes, plus it was delivered pretty thinly. Even so, it had all kinds of weapons và armor, tough quái dị fights with insanely huge bosses, & when you die you"re dead. There is no save, just save and exit, và it"s limited as khổng lồ where you can perform it. (Assuming any of this makes it into the MMO, & it seems the pawns will be there yay! :) It promises to be a great game, maybe along the lines of what you"re looking for, IF we get it. You tell me if it looks lượt thích something you"d want, or better yet, tell Capcom. They"re tired of hearing from me by now I bet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g
